Who is Danisha S. McCall, MD, MSL?
Dr. Danisha S. McCall, a distinguished expert in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, showcases a resilience that transcends conventional medical expertise. Her unwavering determination to tackle the complex hurdles of neonatal care is a source of inspiration. Over her 10-plus-year career, Dr. Danisha’s proactive dedication symbolizes vitality and her advocacy for the well-being of newborns is unwavering.

A passionate advocate for individuals who have encountered discrimination and oppression from an early age, Dr. Danisha remains resolute in her pursuit of effecting positive change in their lives. Her journey began with an undergraduate education at Xavier University of Louisiana, followed by her medical training at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she led the Diversity Committee and participated in community projects to establish a Medical-Legal partnership.

As a neonatal-perinatal fellow, Dr. Danisha deepened her commitment to addressing healthcare disparities, particularly racial inequities in breastfeeding rates at the time of discharge. Recognizing the importance of leadership in her mission, Dr. Danisha pursued her master's degree in leadership with a focus on innovation from the University of Evansville in Indiana. After obtaining a Diversity and Inclusion certificate from Cornell University, she continues contributing to their program as a course facilitator. She further enhanced her expertise by becoming a certified transformational coach, complementing her leadership training and equipping her with valuable skills to facilitate transformative change.

Dr. Danisha's mission is firmly rooted in addressing systemic issues that disproportionately impact vulnerable communities. Her unwavering commitment to justice and equity is a reassurance of her dedication. This commitment drives her relentless efforts to dismantle discrimination and prejudice in all their forms. With a steadfast adherence to her principles and objectives, Dr. Danisha is a force for change, actively working to break down barriers to equality.

Dr. Danisha is passionate about leading and coaching leaders to become the people the world needs, to radically change and overcome the systemic "isms" that negatively impact all of us. Through her unique experiences as a racialized woman in society and minoritized physician in healthcare, along with her medical training and professional development, she is purposed to change the racialized mindsets of thought leaders and decision-makers of healthcare organizations to implement top-down policies, practices, and processes committed to empathy, equity, and anti-ism.​
